Whoops that is a ‘68. I looks better that the ‘18 and I have stopped caring about hearing about the ‘18. It is just another Mustang. People will still crash them into other people hoping to watch people crash them into people. And then one day people will forget about it cause Ford will fuck up the Mustang again like they did with the Fox body and then get all retro again... Maybe...

I hope they end the V8 and replace it with a V6 hybrid so FP can circle jerk over how fast hybrids are and no one will buy it, because it’ll weight 6,000lbs exactly and be rubbish.

I’d be curious to know how they package it though. I think they’d make it AWD at that point. It seems like a front engine with front electric drive would be crazy nose heavy, but having the rear electric and gas powered would be unnecessary.

let’s not get hysterical. The Mustang II’s poor reputation came less from being based on the Pinto, and more from it’s hilariously limp engines. The base 2.3 was 88 hp, the next step up was the 105 hp 2.8. And when the V8 came back for 1975 it had 140 hp. For the 2018 to be “another Mustang II,” considering the weight increase the base engine would have to be the 1.0 non-turbo Fox, with the 1.0 Ecoboost above it, and the 1.5 Ecoboost the top engine.

Lots of people want ugly cars, I mean people buy 2CVs. They are neat, but ugly as sin. Want them all you want. That won’t make them look better.

Just like I want a C4 Corvette. They were my childhood Vette, but that interior is AWFUL, but I still want one.

sorry, no. the late Fox Mustang was what was on the market when I was in middle/high school, and it was hotter than shit. you’ve got to understand, 225 hp/300 lb/ft was serious business after the Malaise Era. I remember when I was 13 or so, a neighbor gave me a ride in his ‘85 Camaro with all of 165 hp from its 305, and it was the fastest car I had been in.

Of course, with fuel injection taking over it was only a few more years before I learned to drive (and learned to drive stick) in my dad’s Dodge Spirit R/T which put out 224 hp from its 2.2 liters.

It was a clean design with no heritage throwbacks that was an affordable and practical package. It’s the most Mustang Mustang since the original Mustang.
